Three people dead in Melbourne after separate stabbing, shooting incidents

 Police say a man who was shot dead in Mickleham, in Melbourne's north, overnight was the victim of an organised hit.

The man, 22, was found dead in Bangalore Way after police were called shortly after midnight.

A silver BMW was found on fire several streets away, and detectives now say the vehicle appears to have been used by whoever shot the man.

Acting Assistant Commissioner Mick Frewen said the shooting appeared to have been "well organised."
